Telemedicine Consults

Expert Care, From the Comfort of Home

$65

+ tax / per consult

Over Zoom. The carrier stays in the closet.

A telemedicine consult is a remote, virtual appointment where a licensed veterinarian assesses your pet’s health via video call. You talk through what’s going on, go over anything relevant together, and finish with a clear idea of what to do next.

You’ve taken the photo. You’ve shown it to someone who is not a veterinarian. You’ve searched something you’d now rather not have searched. This is the better version of that — and it costs less than the parking did.

What a Consult Covers

Talk through symptoms and concerns, go over medications, results, and records, and work out your options — including whether this is something that actually needs the exam room.

Consults are also a sensible way to get a second opinion. If you’re sitting on a diagnosis, a proposed treatment, or a set of results from somewhere else and you’d like another professional look at it, send the records ahead and we’ll go through them on the call.

What Suits a Consult And What Doesn't

Suits a consult

Needs the exam room

Telemedicine is intended for appropriate non-emergency cases only. An in-person examination or diagnostics may be recommended if necessary.

⚠️ Emergencies Need a Phone Call, Not a Consult

Call (416) 755-8387 or go to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital if your pet is struggling to breathe, has collapsed or is seizing, is bleeding heavily, has a hard or swollen abdomen, is straining to urinate with nothing coming out (a male cat doing this is an emergency tonight), has been hit by a car, or may have eaten something toxic.

How It Works

01

Book a time

Online or by phone. A sentence on what you’d like to discuss means the veterinarian reads the file beforehand rather than during.

02

Pay at booking

Payment is required before the consult begins, so there’s nothing to sort out on the call.

03

Send your evidence ahead

Photos, video, and any records or results from elsewhere. Ten seconds filmed while the thing is actually happening beats five minutes of describing it — and your pet will not perform on cue during the call.

04

Join on Zoom

You’ll get a link. Have your pet nearby and a light on.

05

Finish with a plan

Everything goes into your pet’s record, and if you need to come in, we’ll book it before the call ends.
